If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?”

— T.S. Eliot

Well a couple of years ago I tried that song a week. I learnt a lot doing it and it's time to try again. One thing I learnt was the difficulty of the recording, mixing and production. That got in the music. So first off it is streamline that process with some whiz-bang technology.

And firstly work on covers. Get the sound and recording right - then the Harpersman composition.

Hurt One

The audacity of covering a Johnny Cash cover... my son got me on to this song after the movie Logan. I noted that it plays with the Am key and twists the IV chord's D chord similar to ONE by U2. So I thought I'd challenge the cover a little by blending the 2 songs. I wanted minimalistic vocals and guitar sound, similar to the JC Hurt cover. Also that would allow me to play with my new Izotope plug-ins and sound box.
